Oh, yeah, me and me mates moved over here late last year, like. I get out and about plenty, but sometime just stayin' home with a few bottles and a good joint is all I need.

[His drink is already finished and he's waving for more, side eyeing Archie carefully as he tries to catch the bartenders attention.]

You uh, you patrol this city, is it? Like, stop robbers and that?

[he takes a swig, shaking his head.]

This was one of my last days-- pulled myself off it. Figures I'd get that crap from it all. No quiet days or anythin'!

[Cassidy's doing his very best not to grin like an idiot at the invitation, instead just giving the most awkward of smiles which he not so smoothly covers by knocking back another round. He feels like a kid in a playground who's just been asked to join in on the coolest of games, acceptance and friendship all rolled into one.]

Y-yeah. A movie sounds great, we can watch a proper shite one for a laugh. Might even help yeh out with them sore muscles, mate, I got magic fingers.

[He's moving to stand, and happy to 'help' Archie carry that whiskey, holding it close to his chest because he loves it like it's his own child.

[the lightheartedness fades a little as archie sounds GENUINELY KIND OF UPSET by that? he reaches over and gives cassidy's hair a patpatpat. he is kind of half drunk.]

[Aw, why is Archie so nice?! It's adorable and Cassidy can't help but offer up a goofy sort of smile in return. People being nice to him is basically the best feeling in the world.]

[he leans over a little in his seat, almost a little too much on cassidy himself.]

[There's absolutely no complaint at the leaning, instead putting his weight into it and lifting a finger to poke very lightly towards Archie's chest.]

[he groans when cassidy pokes him.]

Definitely gave the fucker a black eye. I'll take my wins where I get 'em. [he doesn't think to question cassidy not liking the sun, though even if he knew the answer it wouldn't bother him.] Ah-- how are you with animals?

Oh, mate I love animals. I dunno if they like me so much sometimes though. They're not always me biggest fan, I'll be honest.

[Depending on the animal, but some sure do like avoiding him, spooking near him, or growling at him. And then there's the ones who just don't give a shit, it's hard to tell.]

[he gives a lazy thumbs up, then drops his head onto cassidy's shoulder.]

[Oh, hey! Pokemon! He knows that name in his masses of random popular culture knowledge. He's not so sure he knows of a big bat or a hyena, but he doesn't seem too concerned by the mention of them.]

Y'didn't drag me nowhere, mate, I thought I was followin' you, not the other way 'round. 'Sides, there's nothing wrong with a bit of a laze every now and then, I needed a lazy night in meself, even got a pre-rolled joint for just such an occasion.

[Patting his chest pocket knowingly, and then following up with a pat to Archie's head. Good boy.]

[luckily, the cab arrives at archie's place before he can mull it over more. it's a nice place-- single storey modern-ish place. close enough to a canal that you can hear the water but far enough away from the city that he doesn't really have any neighbors.

there's also a giant, purple bat hanging off the lip of the roof around the corner. its two stark yellow eyes focus on them as they get out the cab. impossible to tell if it's angry or not.

also, let's be honest. archie is a fucking mess like cassidy, just without much of the drug use.]
